Calista Nutrition provides specialist dietitian services in Dublin — tailored nutrition advice, whether you want to achieve a balanced diet or need support in the treatment of a specific condition.

Every client is treated on an individual basis, with a client-centred approach at the heart of everything we do. The areas below are our core specialist areas, but our support is not confined to them — if you’re unsure whether we can help, just ask.

Our dietitian services in Dublin and online

Balanced meal with salmon, grains and fresh vegetables

Nutrition consultancy for companies and institutions — advisory services for organisations.

Weight reduction and management

Supportive, practical dietetic advice throughout your weight-loss journey — focused on sustainable changes rather than quick fixes. This includes nutrition guidance for people using prescribed weight-management medication, helping to support nutritional adequacy and practical dietary management alongside their treatment. (Calista Nutrition does not prescribe or supply medication.)

Gastrointestinal health

Dietetic support for conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract, including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Where clinically appropriate, Margaret uses the FODMAP diet as a targeted management approach — she is a trained FODMAP Dietitian through King’s College London.

Heart health

Nutrition advice to help minimise diet-related cardiovascular risk factors and support long-term heart health — working alongside, never instead of, the care you receive from your GP or cardiologist.

Diabetes

Dietary support for type 2 diabetes and impaired glucose tolerance, helping you optimise blood sugar management through practical, individualised changes that complement your medical care.

Cancer care

Guidance on the nutritional implications of treatment-related side effects — supportive dietetic care to help maintain strength and quality of life, working alongside your medical team. This is nutritional support during treatment and recovery, not a treatment for cancer.

Food allergy and intolerance

Helping you identify potentially problematic foods through structured dietary assessment and manipulation. No blood testing is carried out — we do not offer or endorse unvalidated food-intolerance tests.

Women’s health

Nutrition advice and support in PCOS, pregnancy and menopause, tailored to your individual circumstances and stage of life.

Corporate and institutional consultancy

Calista Nutrition also provides nutrition consultancy and advisory services to companies and institutions. Contact us to discuss your organisation’s needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens at the initial consultation?
Your initial consultation takes up to one hour. To build a full picture, you may be asked about your relevant medical and surgical history, family history, body weight and weight history where relevant, medication, any recent blood results, your current diet and supplements, and your physical activity. Based on this information — and any relevant clinical condition — a personalised dietary treatment or management plan is developed, and appropriate targets may be agreed with you. It’s a conversation, not an examination: the aim is to understand you and build a plan that fits your life.
How often do I need to attend for review?
Margaret will make a recommendation at your initial consultation. For some clients, a single appointment is all that’s needed. Others benefit from a schedule of follow-up reviews — for example fortnightly or monthly — depending on individual circumstances and goals.
Will my consultation be covered by health insurance?
Some private health-insurance policies may provide full or partial cover for consultations with a CORU-registered Dietitian. Cover varies by policy, so please confirm eligibility directly with your insurer before attending. You may also be able to claim tax relief on qualifying health expenses through Revenue’s myAccount or ROS services — eligibility depends on your circumstances, so please check current Revenue guidance.
